Embryos on the Snow Brings you the La Prix Scholarship Award - APPLICATION CLOSED

Embryos on Snow is an elite auction featuring some of the best genetics in the seedstock business. The sale has historically been each January on Friday evening during “club calf weekend” at the National Western Stock Show in Denver, Colorado. New in 2021, the Embryos on Snow sale will relocate to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and be held in conjunction with the Inaugural Cattlemen's Congress. The auction consists of embryos from leading donor dams, as well as other select lots. The selection process is backed by the knowledge and past success of the marketing team and the breeders who helped start it. Many successful programs have lined the foundation of this impressive annual sale. Sale entry is by invitation and genetics featured in the Embryos on Snow are exclusive to this sale offering. The 2021 sale will be held at the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on January 8, 2021. Doors will open at 5;00 p.m. and the sale will begin promtly at 6;30 p.m. 

In 2011, the announcement of the Embryos on Snow Scholarship Program was made. The scholarship contest is titled “La Prix.” The sale’s commissionable proceeds, in addition to an initial sponsorship by TransOva Genetics, served as the first scholarship to be awarded. The winner of the “La Prix” contest, currently receives a $10,000 cash award and the runner-up receives a $5,000 cash award. The 3rd place winner will recieve a $3,000 cash award, the 4th and 5th place finalists will each recieve a $1,000 cash award.  The scholarship is currently funded by the commissionable proceeds from the sale and the EOS sponsors.

$20,000 TOTAL will be awarded on January 8, 2021 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma prior to the 15th Annual Embryos on Snow sale. 

“La Prix” is an essay type contest that seeks to find the young people that have a great deal of ambition, knowledge and ability. The essay contest is not based on writing ability, rather on content, creativity and the future intent of a young person. An applicant may have any goal, collegiate major or career in mind. In a 200 to 300 word essay please describe any plans for the future that you have and what goals you have set for yourself or your family. It may be anything and we encourage you to be creative in your answer. Do not list or describe past achievements or awards. Do not mention your name and give as little reference to any past history or affiliation with other names, people or organizations.
